In November 2025, Small and Simple Things hosted its first Education Summit, gathering over 60 participants from across the region. The event was born from a simple observation: many families in disadvantaged circumstances have children with extraordinary potential but limited access to mentorship, resources, and encouragement.
Over two days, attendees participated in workshops on goal-setting, study skills, scholarship applications, and career exploration. Local professionals volunteered their time to share personal stories of perseverance and faith. Several young people left with concrete action plans and new mentors committed to walking alongside them.
One mother shared, "My son came home and said for the first time he believes college is possible for him. That belief is everything." The summit embodied our mission — not just relieving immediate needs but helping individuals discover their potential and move forward with hope.
We plan to make this an annual event and expand its reach to additional communities in the coming year.
